Opto123 / Opto123 backtests
« Last post by xux99 on December 19, 2010, 02:51:44 pm »
Hi fx4a

I can backtest it with default settings. Try a fresh Alpari Metatrader install, download historical data from history center and backtest it on M5 timeframe.

Hi xux99.
                Very interesting EA.
I have read the thread at FF and also manual trading 123 thread.
Problem I have with EA is that I have tried everything I can think of, but am unable to open trades in back testing. No errors in journal.
Could you provide a setfile that you use , so that at least I can start testing the EA. I am fairly experience with EA's so I'm not sure what's going wrong.
Someone at FF suggested trying to turn ECN on, but this option has been removed and now is auto I presume..
Thanks

Actually, I may have provided incorrect info..................sorry!!! It needs to work with Non Dealing Desks. I thought that was the same as ECN brokers but apparently not necessarily the same.

Non Dealing Desk Broker is what I should say. In this case FXCM UK.

Hi xux99,

Is this the updated one to run on ECN compatible brokers? Or am i getting ahead of myself?

I downloaded and backtested but it still only showing the 2 entries i.e 1. buy/sell and 2. tp/sl (not a modify order inbetween).

Sorry if not ready yet, just getting a bit excited :-)

Kind Regards

Uranus / Uranus EA settings

It may not always exit because CloseIfProfit is true. This means DSS Bressert exits only profitable trades. If NonLagMa is 1100,  PriceChannelStop is 1100 and DSS Bressert is 1100 an entry signal occurs when all three indicators agree and an exit signal occurs when any of them reverses. The fourth digit refers to the indicator timeframe, 0 means the chart timeframe.

:o
Thank you Xux for your answers to me. I am very appreciate it. One of the best robot i ever seen.
The thing is it does not exit when DSS Bressert change the colour. I put for DSS Bressert 1100. I attached my settings for you. Could you have a look on my settings, please. Thanks

If I want to go long when NonLagMa, PriceChannelStop and DSS Bressert give signals go long. And the same for short. What settings for this combination must be? Is it NonLagMa 1100 , PriceChannelStop 1100 and DSS Bressert 1100  ?
What does mean four digit code? In manual explained what means three digit value only. But what is four digit value number ?

Do you have better manual for this robot?
Thank you!

1: Set the second digit to 1 to enable DSS Bressert exits. 2: Set DSSBressertLevel to 20.

Ok - Thanks! :)
1. In your manual says that when DSS Bressert  changes colour it is the exit. But it is does not work like that. It does exit  with stop loss or take profit command occurs.
  2. How I can set up Uranus to take long when DSS Bressert indicator is below  overbought 80 and short when it is above 20. At the moment it takes long when  red DSS Brasserts in overbought
position. And it takes  short when DSS Brasserts in oversold position.

  Thank you Xux
