MY 'OGA' XUX99 HAD ALREADY DONE A 1DERFUL JOB IN CODING THIS EA I WILL LIKE US TO PLS TEST AND COME UP WITH GOOD SET AND IDEAS OF IMPROVEMENT OF THIS EA, MY NEXT POST WILL EXPLAIN THE LOGIC BEHIND THE EA.

I AM A LITTLE LAZY WHEN IT COMES TO TYPING SO PLS BEAR WITH ME , I WILL TRY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO EXPLAIN THIS STRATEGY.

1. TWO INDICATORS ARE USED
                 A. ADX
                 B. 3 LEVEL ZZ SEMAFOR

I KNOW THE FIRST OBJECTION IS THE ZZ INDICATOR REPAINTS WE HAVE THAT IN MIND ALREADY

NOW THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE STRATEGY WITH THIS PAIR OF INDICATORS, FOR THE SAKE OF THIS THREAD WE WOULD BE LOOKING AT THE ONE AFTER THE OTHER.

THE FIRST IS BASED SOLELY ON THE 3LEVEL SEMAFOR THIS IS SO SIMPLE THAT I LOVE IT SO MUCH, I HAVING BEEN USING IT IN MANUAL TRADING FOR SOMETIME WITH GREAT SUCCESS. WHAT WE ARE COUNTING ON IS THE FACT THAT IT REPAINTS

HOW DOES IT WORK

1. long signal when either level 1,2 or 3 appears on top of a candle, (pls

note this is not a mistake)

2. short signal when either level 1,2 or 3 appears below  a candle, (pls

note this is not also mistake)

all other EA codes luxuries , (stealth, stoploss, take profit, trading time in a day, MM, Fixed lots , Maximum equity needed, maximum drawdown allowed, and other logic that are neccessary.

THROUGH TESTING I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE LEVEL 3 OF THE SEMAFOR IS A MORE LIKELY OPTION AS IT TENDS TO START A PERIOD FOR THE MARKET REVERSAL SO THE THINKING IS THAT THE MARKET WILL START A REVERSAL SOON, BUT IN REALITY THE MARKET STILL GOES FURTHER IN THE SAME DIRECTION AT LEAST 2 CANDLES MORE IN ANY TIME FRAME (SOMETIMES UP TO 8 CUMULATIVE CANDLES) AS IT IS JUST THE START OF THE REVERSAL!

I AIM FOR 10-20 PIPS FOR THIS PARTICULAR STRATEGY, AND I GET IT ABOVE 90% OF THE TIME ON 15 MIN TF

WHAT ELSE HAVE NOT SAID............
YEA
THE MAJOR ISSUE WE HAVE HAD AUTOMATING THIS EA IS THE PROBLEM OF TRADING MORE THAN ONCE SINCE THE INDICATOR (3 LEVEL ZZ SEMAFOR ) REPAINTS IT KIND OF GENERATES SIGNAL ON EVERY CANDLE THAT IS AN EXTENSION OF THE ORIGINAL SIGNAL  GENERATED. SO THIS TURNS IT TO A LOOSING STRATEGY, BECAUSE IT PICKS THE 1ST TRADE (PROFIT) 2ND (PROFIT) THEN GOES AHEAD TO ENTER A LOOSING TRADE COS THE TREND IS ALREADY FADING.

SO MY SUGGESTION WAS FOR A TIME DELAY TO BE INPUTTED, WHICH CAUSED MORE CHALLENGES, THE TIMING CAN NOT JUST BE RIGHT COS ONE DOESNT KNOW WHEN THE NEXT SIGNAL WILL COME UP

MY 2ND AND NEW SUGGESTION NOW IS FOR A TRADE TO BE PER OPPOSITE SIGNAL, I.E IF IT PLACES A BUY THE NEXT SIGNAL IT SHOULD GENERATE SHOULD BE A BUY

I HOPE I MADE SOME SENSE

I am using the Semaphore for years now and it is a wonderful tool if you learn how to get the most out of it.

My suggestion is to watch higher TFs and when you get a bunch of 3's on charts, you will be almost 100% sure you hit the price in the lottery. Like M15, M30, H1 and even H4, you hit the casino.
trust me, those situations occur on a regular basis and pay lots of pips.

Also I have been using a setup where I would enter a trade opposite of what the dot indicates, like a 3 dot up on the M5, if the price keeps going against me, I enter another position some 15-20 pips after that and then wait for the retrace to pay me. I works, but not the best system for me so far.

Don't want to sound negative, but I don't see this really cutting it in a live account.
The semaphore was designed as  trend reversal indicator, combines with a ZZ to mark it easier.

Now if the issue would be build on the 2 dot, it makes more sense to me, as that is a warning for a 3 dot to show up higher lots of time.

what i am counting on is the REPAINTING of the 3rd level zz, it almost always repaints b4 retracing so i just want to go with the flow, but the issue now is how do we squeeze out more profit from a winning trade(trailing stop, partial close etc)  and  how do we minimize losses from a losing trade.
i like to keep it simple,
secondly we could still benefit from the retracement but we need another indicator to serve as a confirmation for retracement.
maybe like adx or combination of some indis like the signal bar for confirmation of retracement
i will soon post some test result and set files
thanks once more freddy

NB, freddy can we have a collabo system with high probability winning (80+) and focus on its development, taking the better parts of ur systems and combining it with this one or anoy other one u know has high probability

sorry i am taking some time it seems that some of the Pairs need different sets(my eyes are all red from starring at the system for too long)

i want to get EU, GJ and EJ
with those ones out of the way we can focus on other pairs
the issues is that they are generally all above 70% in backtesting (meaning that they have above 70% winning trades, but with just 20-30 pips that's not enough), i want to get to at least 10:1 ratio winning trades : losing trades

another issue is stop loss i dont know what to adopt yet cos some trades need a good swing b4 coming to profit

by the end of the week we would count our winnings definitely

xux99 welcome back as today is 18th of july
the result of the zzadx as been a mixture of sorts

one last adjustment/ modification (i hope), i will like to add an indicator that describes general sell and buy areas

so in addition to the entry conditions i want the vantage indi to also be in the conditions

1. 3 level semafor (check)
2. adx arrows (check)
3. vantage indi (check)............
then place trade

Also i think i mentioned that the EA options are becoming too much can you kindly remove the following functions

1. martingail function
2. All ATR functions
3. all ADX and ZZ semafor external setting (from the options but it should still remain in the EA i mean the numbers
4. Hedge functions

thanks

while we are waiting for xux
this is the basic strategy that fxwizard used back in the days

what do u feel

LONG
1.    +DI is above -DI
2.    +DI is above 20 and rising
3.     strength above 20 and rising enter long

SHORT

1.    -DI is above +DI
2.    +DI is above 20 and rising
3.     strength above 20 and rising enter short

recommendation just take 10-15 pips for TF15mins
if trade turns against you martingail yourself out since its still generally in a sell or buy market

 ;) ::)
